Assistant Program Director
REPORTS TO: Program Director (as designated by the COO)
SUPERVISES: Program Coordinator(s)
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
Starting Wage: $68,900 per year, adjusted for relevant work experience and education.
RESPONSIBILITIES: In concert with the Program Director, develops and ensures the effective and efficient administration of licensed and unlicensed programs and program sites in accordance with overall program goals, ROI policy and procedure, and all applicable state, federal, and local laws and regulations. Implement responsibilities and other actions in accordance with ROI’s Core Values and Vision and Mission Statements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Participates in the development of service/support plans through attendance at service/support team meetings.
- Embraces and supports ROI’s philosophies related to diversity, inclusiveness, and anti-racism and works to ensure ROI’s commitment to being an anti-racist organization.
- Promotes services/supports that are consistent with the needs and desires of the individuals served and their families. Assists in implementing service/support plans as appropriate.
- Advocates for the individuals served to ensure the health, well-being, and recipient rights of each individual.
- Provides input to the Program Director related to collaboration with collateral agencies, service/support teams, and family members of those served by ROI to enable implementation of service/support plans and positive working relationships between organizations.
- Participates in and conducts in-service training provided by ROI and/or other organizations as is necessary for job skill enhancement or agency enhancement.
- Hires, directs, and evaluates work of Program Coordinators and equivalent positions within the program team.
- Assists in hiring, directing, and evaluating Assistant Program Coordinators.
- Oversees and/or assists Coordinators in personnel matters of program staff, as is necessary.
- Participates in the Investigations of a legations of recipients’ rights violations.
- Leads the Program team to function in support of both individual Program teams and ROI as a whole. Implements ROI’s Personnel Policies within the Program team.
- Assists the Program Director in monitoring annual program budgets as well as revising those budgets throughout the year; assists in ensuring team Programs operate within budget. Participates in the development of ROI’s Strategic Plan.
- Completes program evaluations as requested. Supervises and monitors team activities in an effort to maximize effectiveness of ROI fiscal systems, human resource systems, and clinical systems.
- Supervises and monitors team activities in an effort to maximize overall program stability, certification, and licensure where applicable; this includes appropriate response to all inspections, investigations, and external audits and reviews.
- Supports the quality enhancement, strategic plan, outcomes plan, and program goals of the greater agency.
- Maintains the confidentiality of all restricted information, data, and reports. Supports the development of new group homes designed to serve individuals with behavioral challenges, as well as any other program development needed to meet the needs and goals of the agency.
- Meets the targets for on-site performance expectations, which may include specific dates, shifts, or hours. Provides support and direct assistance to behavioral and medical concerns within the program, which may include physical management, transportation to and from medical appointments, and staff on site support during crisis.
- Completes all other tasks as assigned by the designated Program Director.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Oversee recruiting, hiring, and training of all team Direct Support Professionals and assist the agency with the same.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree preferred; five years of supervisory experience, preferably in the human services or mental health field; experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities strongly preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated oral, written, training, and team building skills. Excellent communications, interpersonal, organizational, presentation, management, and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to work on several major tasks concurrently. Ability to attend work-related obligations throughout the community.
