Senior Accounting Manager
Supervisor: Chief Financial Officer
Supervises: Accountant, Payroll Staff, Accounting Technicians, Representative Payees
Status: Salaried exempt, full time
Annual wage between $67,375 to $80,000; commensurate with experience.

Essential Duties:
- Supervise the staff and activities of the Finance team, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, reconciliations, internal audits, and representative payee services.
- Maintain accuracy of financial records and reports and ensure that practices comply with generally accepted accounting principles, appropriate internal controls, and financial reporting standards.
- Participate in all financial audit activities for the organization and compile necessary documentation and reports for external auditors.
- Prepare financial statements and variance explanations.
- Provide accounting support (education, information) to staff throughout the agency.
- Assist in the drafting of policies, procedures, and best practices and perform internal audits.
- Manage relationships with funders, government agencies, and vendors as assigned.
- Carry out special projects and requests for financial data as assigned.

- Maintain the confidentiality of all restricted information, data and reports.
- Complete all other tasks as assigned by the CFO or the CEO.
Requirements for Employment:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration or equivalent business experience as approved by the CEO and CFO.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional accounting experience.
- 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Experience with non-profit accounting functions.
- Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations preferred.

Candidate Qualifications:
- Knowledge of general accounting principles and practices.
- Ability to read, interpret and apply federal, state, and local grant requirements and regulations, and other contractual financial regulations and procedures.
- Utilize modern office practices and associated software related to accounting.
- Ability to communicate with the public at all levels to effectively respond to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
- Possess effective communication skills.
- Work independently as well as lead a team.
- Manage your own workflow.
- Attend (including providing own transportation) work-related obligations throughout the community.
